Hi
My Pavillion keeps on rebooting with blue screen of death. The error is related to driver "w22n51.sys" with the error message DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL on the blue screen.

I have been hunting this bug for two days now. These are my observations.
It NEVER happens unless my wireless network is activated. Normal wired network does not cause it.

It typically happens when a Java application in a browser accesses the network.
It happens with 3 different versions of JREs.
It happens with IE6 and Firefox.

The w22n51.sys is a driver for the Intel Pro/wireless 2200BG card.

I have updated the driver from the CDROM version 8.0.11 to 8.0.12.20000.
Searching for drivers at other PC manufacturers always gives this version as the newest.

Support forums of different nature shows similar issue. Some resfs.

It seems Intel has goofed up something here. It is suggested that going from WPA to WEP encryption make the problem go away or minimize it but this is not a fix. WEP is not considered secure.

I wonder if HP will put pressure on Intel to get this fixed - or fix it themselves.

Any proposals for settings that work will be welcome. I am not very happy with my new PC because of this. It is a disapointment that I have to use wired network with my laptop.

Kenneth,

I hope you are still logging in as another user seems to have found a solution.
