I had a customer of mine decide to download and update the BIOS on a HP Pavilion a1750y Desktop with the Asus P5LP-LE motherboard.
I wasn't there and I don't want to ask what happened but now the PC boots to the Award Bootbloack BIOS v 1.0 with:
BIOS ROM Checksum error.
I have attempted to reflash the BIOS from floppy by extracting the ROM file from sp35104.exe.
I have tried AWDFLASH, UNIFLASH, PHLASH, and AMIFLASH.
Anyone know a another/better way to accomplish this?
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Gave those a shot but they all seem to come back with unknown manufacture and aflash says it can't find the BIOS hook.

Someone awhile back used Awdflash,I believe to revive a bios gone wrong.Seems like they had to rename the extracted rom file to bin or something like that.
Wish I could find that thread now, maybe later or someone else will remember exacts of it.

If if doesn't work with Awdflash, try it with Aflash from the link posted by Rich.

I know this sounds ironic.Awhile back I had a computer do that and all I did was replace the internal battery.
Like I said,it does sound weird but what will a couple of dollars hurt.

Actually it doesn't sound so weird. It may even have been that the CMOS settings were cleared while you had the old battery out and that solved the problem.
Worth a try to clear CMOS,pull power cord, remove battery and leave out for 10-20 minutes.
I once had a Pavilion that I had to leave the battery out of overnight before it booted.I had tried the 10 minute,no luck, tried again for 60 minutes,no luck.Had all but given up when I just left it all night and the next day it booted!

I've found, If you push the power/boot button after taking out the battery, it will drain all remaining power from the PSU capacitors and MB. I've cleared the CMOS in, as short as 30 seconds most times. Some have jumpers to use, I prefer the battery, easier to hold on to.

Thanks for all the responses. I am not sure what this guy did, like shut it of in the middle of the update, but none of these good answers are working. He is still under warranty, so I am sending it off to HP.
