I want to upgrade CPU in my notebook. Currently I have Celeron M 330 and I'm planning to buy Pentium M (Dothan with 2MB L2 cache) 755, 745 or 735. According to this Service and Maintenance Guide:

http://bizsupport.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00374392/c00374392.pdf

it is possible but I want to know for sure before buying one. :-)
I'm especialy concerned that there are many versions of Pentium M 755/745/735 family and I don't know will my motherboard work with all of them (Dothan for example).
Thanks in advance for any response. :-)

Best regards,

Andrzej Rostocki

Hi,

From your document we can but from other document we can't

http://h18002.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11996_div/11996_div.HTML

From my view it's possible since this generation of CPU has same pin and same FSB. May be other member can give a second opinion.

I have successfully installed a SL7EP (Centrino 1.7GHz 2MB cache 400MHz FSB) on a PG752ES NX9020 !!!
The only difficult part is to disassemble the notebook....
