I have installed TTN5 on my iPAQ 214. however when the program is run all that happens is that the backlight is switched off and there is no way of switching it back on. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so have they managed to resolve it. Has anyone successfully installed TTN5 on the iPAQ 214 or any iPAQ running WM6. Any help appreciated.

The only version of TT you can run on your device is the 6.03.xxx, which can be downloaded from TT homepage. You have to buy the maps 6.75 though as the TT5 maps dont work.

Hi I have an HX2110 which came as part of Tom Tom Navigator 5. I upgraded the operating system from PC2003 to Windows Mobile. Tom Tom no longer works. All it says is No Maps Found. I feel sorry for you with your problem because I have 18 months worth of correspondance with Tom Tom where they offered no real solution to my problem.

Sean,
You need TT5.2 for wm5. There is an update:

The ipaq 200 will only work with TT6.03

Hi Kaj,

Thanks for the info, I had a look at the link and it looks like exactly what I was looking for.

Only problem is my HX2110 is now completely locked up and won't hard/soft reset. Please read my separate post from today.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Regards,

Sean

I did exactly the same thing and the exact same thing happened to me, but you can get around it.

(This works in daylight, or with a torch, because although there's no backlight, you can still read the screen by external light).

Start TT and the backlight will go out.
Press the windows application button to get back to the today screen. (You may need to hold the button down for a second or two).
Go to 'Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'System' -> 'Backlight', and then just tap 'OK' in the top right corner of the screen.
The backlight will be restored to working condition and you can now switch back to TomTom.

Not a permanent fix unfortunatly, as the previous backlight setting is restored when you close TT and you'll need to repeat the fix, next time you start the program.
