error is
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I have replaced everything... but i found something very interesting the laptop just sitting doing nothing... XP loaded and all the drivers latest versions...
DELAY WRITE FAILURE in the task bar...
so either the controller or the driver or something is wrong ran diags came back clean...
either way i have 4 customers that bought about 10 of these they are not opened and going back to HP for the 6730s and I will not be selling these as i have spent already to much time on this model... which i should have not had to do.
either way laptop of choice is the 6730b... CHOICE laptop... i have the 6710b ROCK SOLID never fails me. |

If you browse further in the forum there is mention of BSOD if you try and switch to SATA mode in the BIOS without having loaded the latest SATA AHCI drivers. Could be a red herring but worth a look. |

I`ve uninstalled video drivers, installed all 3 versions on HP site even latest from ati no change.I have installed notebook in SATA mode , not ide and using it in SATA mode.I have tested all components with diagnostics and memory with memtest, nothing wrong.

I am having this same stop error except the third code is a little different. Has anyone found the solution. I'm stuck.
STOP: 0x00000050 (0x80097000, 0x00000000,0x8053a6a3, 0x00000000) |

Resolved it - you need to go into the bIOS and change the controller from SATA to IDE. then install XP. Then before putting SP3 on you must install the AMD SP3 patch else it will likely just continually reboot. |

I am getting the error before I install SP3. Where do you get the AMD SP3 patch? Are you getting the same error codes? |

Curious, how close were your stop code parameters to:
STOP: 0x00000050 (0x80097000, 0x00000000,0x8053a6a3, 0x00000000) |

I've resolved the problem without having to go to IDE mode.
If you receive this error, you are likely using sysprep. Enable BuildMassStorageSection in Sysprep.inf
[Sysprep] BuildMassStorageSection = Yes
[SysprepMassStorage] |

Hi Ken
I had exactly the same error code as you. I believe the problem lies with networking.
It happened to me a couple of times after using the XP network wizard, the 3rd time I configured it manually & so far the error hasn't resurfaced.
If It happens again I'll post an update. |

Im same poster as above [djcsurf] but this dumb board wouldn't let me sign back in so had to re-register. Ken, I now know 100% what the problem is causing: STOP: 0x00000050 (0x80097000, 0x00000000,0x8053a8d3, 0x00000000)
I bet when you loaded the printer drivers it was from a pendrive that probably has a floppy boot feature built in.
I get the exact error code when I reboot after inserting my 4GB pendrive, I have tested this several times so I know it's the problem.
I have created a Reg snapshot of before & after inserting the drive & there are over 100 new reg keys automatically installed by windows (pendrive related)
I guess a batch file would be the answer or a reg entry to remove all new keys, there are also keys that have been modified so you would need to know their original state to revert them back.
This is a HP related problem so they should get off their backsides & patch it! |

I have the same problem. Just installed 4 laptops with XP using the HP Windows XP and drivers discs that came with the 6735's and on reboot they all blue screened with a STOP 0x00000050 (0x80097000, 0x00000000, 0x805399B3, 0x00000000) and they contnue to do so. Looks like Swine Flu isn't the only pandemic!
Any answer would be greatly appreciated as my customer is expecting delivery on Monday!

We have the same issue, we have 5 of these and have setup 2 to xp using the supplied disks. They worked for awhile then BSOD, *** STOP: 0x00000050 (0x80097000,0x00000000,0x8053a6a3,0x00000000)
We are rebuilding one from scratch but before read any of the ideas on here. XP SP3 going on as I write!
As there are so many people with this problem can HP not issue a definate fix and should these notebooks not come with a warning.
We have wasted a lot of time, therefore money, on brand new notebooks and still have to spend more trying to fix this.
HP you must know what the problem is please post a fix urgently.
These PCs are noy "fit for purpose" and will be returned if we can not get a fix today. |

Additional information on my BSOD, I have tried one of the failing notebooks and it works if I start it with the Power lead plugged in but BSOD if on batteries. Getting stranger and stanger.
Come HP please help us, we only recommend HP and only sell HP but this is very worrying and if I can't get my delivery of 5 notebooks out this week will look very foolish and may loose clients. |

My problem with one of 6735s notebooks was fixed with XP sp3, but the other now reboots before windows starts after adding all of the Windows updates. I suspect the problem is related to wireless drivers and will look at this again on monday. This based on the fact that working one did not have the wireless update. |

I have the exact same issue, I reloaded XP from scratch and the problem seems to occur after loading software from a USB pen, or after loading software for a Brother MFC printer, which ever one I do first creates the BSOD!! However, I noticed that if you press F8 on boot up and select "Enable Boot Logging Mode", the system will boot in to Windows. This must mean that if you slow the boot process up then it will boot fine, with this in mind I edited the boot.ini file and removed the /noexecute=optin switch, this enables DEP, (Data Execute Prevention) on bootup and was implemented in XP SP2, its used to detect and stop malicious software from executing and needs to be supported at both the SW and HW level. And this resolved my BSOD issue, I guess there must be some type of architectural anomaly with this model of laptop that creates a "false positive" on certain drivers as they startup, you might also be able to get around the problem by disabling the DEP service at the BIOS level, I havenât looked as Iâve spent far too much time on this problem already!!! |
