I received new 6910p and 8510p HP laptops, but there is no undock button on the docking stations. There is no "Undock" button in the Windows start menu as well.
I had Dell laptops before and they all had an undock button on the docking station as well as an undock option in Windows.
On the new HP laptops, all drivers are installed and there is no question mark in the Device Manager. I checked on the HP website to see if there is an additional software that would add the undock option in Windows, but couldn't find anything.
Is there a way to add the "Undock" option in the Windows start menu on HP laptops?
Thank you.
Note: All computers are using Windows XP SP3. Also, on my Dell laptops, I don't think I had to install any special software to get the "Undock" button in the Start menu. I just installed every drivers and it was there, so I believe this is more a Windows feature for laptops and not related to Dell.

Indeed there is no undock button in the HP notebooks, the actual undocking can be done directly. Though it is highly recommended to do it after going into Sleep mode or Hibernate, as it would take several seconds for the notebook to recognize the new state if "hot-docked", and could cause compatibility issues.
