My Desktop: Compaq Presario 6000
My Monitor: Compaq 7500

Recently, When I switch on my machine there's a pink hue on the monitor

...I realised that there was hardly any green visible

After playing around I was able to adjust the settings to sort of return the picture colour to "normal"

Control Panel
Appearance & Themes
Display Properties
Settings
Advanced
Intel Extreme Graphics
Graphic Properties
Devices
Monitor Settings
Colour

Video Gain:

85/127 Red
80/127 Green
72/127 Blue

Video Black Level:

154/248 Red
147/255 Green
146/247 Blue

I adjust the settings to:
Video Gain: Green -->120
Video Black Level: Green -->232

Although, now there's obviously a slight green hue in the black level

...and I have to perform this adjustment each time I switch on my machine.

Is there a fault in my settings, start up?
and can I return to normal somehow?

Time for a new monitor.
If you can borrow one or have another one handy plug it in to your comp, if you have the same problem then it is your card.
I had a screen do the exact same thing, gave up bought a new one.

Hi Vincent,

I'd concur with Shon's stern assessment.

This said, you'd better try the monitor on another computer in order to sort out whether the fault lies with it or with the graphic card.

Thanks Guys,

I got a loan of another monitor, which worked perfectly

...looks like it's my monitor alright.

Ah well, I can continue to adjust the settings until something else goes!

One other thing you can try is changing your VGA cable.
