Started with a blue screen and disk drive errors along with an OS error. Tried to install a new hard drive after two days of pulling my hair out trying to figure out why it didnt recognize the current one anymore despite trying to reload xp. It would not recognize the new hard drive either, could not even get power to it. Despite the 400 dollars in upgrades in the computer, husband is ready to toss it but I am not. I am going to try to reload the bio and other drivers from the HP page for this computer : HP Media Center m7350n Windows XP then move on to see if I can get the old drive recognized and xp loaded. If not any other suggestions as to what may be wrong? It was working fine last week til we had a massive attack of virus's that our security/anti-virus software caught on all computers and got rid of, then bam, his computer goes down with error messages and 0 disk 0 driver messages..... Help???????

If it was virused there is a chance that the CMOS was virused as well. It may be possible to recover the original HD.First see this page on clearing CMOS you may have to reset the date and time. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00590499&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=1818343&lang=en the next xtep is to clean the HD with a wipe/zerofill program. I use Boot and Nuke it is downloadable from this page. http://www.dban.org/ the HD manufactuer also have a zero fill program. Run either progam and wipe the HD if you have the restore disks put them in and run them at this point. The system should load at this point. you may have ton change the Boot so that it will boot of of the recovery cd set it in setup F10 to get into setup and look under advancede options at the top and look for boot order. If you don't have the recovery set of disks they can be ordered from HP parts for a reasonable price in the US try 1-800=227-8164 you will need the cofiguration number and the serial number to order them. Make sure that the HD is set to cable select(CS) also make sure that the HD is correctly recognied in setup. Good luck
