Author Subject: 8510p SD card/reader driver for Windows 7?      Add to my favorites

Hi Guys,

Hoping someone can help, I had a relatively trouble free install of Windows 7 on my 8510p and it's breathed new life into it, the laptop is flying again.

However, the SD card reader doesn't work. Putting in a card and nothing registers/happens. Is there an updated driver for Windows 7? (I couldn't find one on the 8510p drivers page, in fact, there is only one lone driver on the page!).

Any help would be much appreciated! :)

Thanks,
Graeme.

Hello,

Try this driver, this is for Windows Vista, However the drivers provided in the Windows 7 web page, also works with Windows Vista. So it should be vice versa.

Graeme,
glad to hear that the problem could be solved.

In case you are new to the HP forum world:
Now that the case is done pls *lock* the thread using the "close thread" button.
This will avoid "Mee-too" postings and it will add a lock icon to the thread which signalizes that the case is done.

Prior to doing so you might assign points to replies you see as helpful, which is the way to say "Thank You" in the HP forum world (pls see the link below).
Unfortunately the UI is not too intuitive if it comes to points. It takes *two* steps: (a) selecting the score in the reply's header and (b) clicking on the "submit points" button (pls also see attachment).

TIA
Rainald
