Help desperately needed for newbie. I have a HP Compaq nx6110 with XP home edition. Was working fine until one day my monitor just went black. When booting I do get the blue screen to put in my poweron password and then the screen goes black. I can connect to an external monitor fine which is how I am using my computer now. If I jiggle the little switch that gets activated when you shut the laptop cover, I can get my screen to work for a few minutes and then it goes black again so I am thinking the problem might be a loose switch or something. I really can't afford a new PC, does this sound like something that would be easy and cheap to fix? Could a computer technician at a PC repair shop do it easy or do I have to send it in to HP? Any help is needed and thank you.
