hey guys, I have an hp pavilion a310n desktop and its about 3-4 years old. the hard drive was replaced abougt 2 yrs ago by the retailer i bought it from. the problem is i shut the system down one day and now when I try to boot and use windows all i get is the Bios Utility Set Up screen. How do i get from this to windows, i know you cant really mess with this info or you can really mess up where your computer thinks everything is so can anybody help? could it be possible that the CMOS battery needs to be replaced? or is it a simplier fix?
thanks for any help
cindy

I would go into Setup (F10 at Startup) and make sure that your hard drive is correctly recognized if it is then you may need to set the date and time. If it still hangs on the BIOS page you may have another hardware failure. It is possible that the HD has failed again. The best way to test it is to go to the HD manufactuers site and download there utilities and run them. If the drive is on the way out it will tell you. Most of these utilities make a bootable floppy or a bootable CD.
