I have both of these drives and have used them without problem rather interchangably. I notice that both the drive numbers and the cable numbers are different.

1. Does any one know the difference between the 2 drives (other than the obvious casing with the different ejection mechanisms)??
2. Can I use either cable for either drive, or must I keep the "set" together? Are the cables somehow different? They certainly look the same except for the numbers.
Thanks!!!

Hi Brad,

I have never seen the separate cable for the F1059A, what part number does it carry? I would say that if the F1059C works at all with the other cable that you do not have much to worry about compatibility-wise.

Brad,

I used those floppies with my Omnibook 300 first. The device has not changed since then (numbers may have). I had 300, 400, 600 and different 800's over time. Each floppy worked. The only difference over time was a different cable with a different plug on the computer side.
