I am trying to connect iPaq H2210 Pocket PC 2003 (Chinese) with my new mobile phone Nokia 6230 via bluetooth. Once entering the passcode, the following error appeared:
"Cannot pair devices for security reasons"

Please help.

For the Nokia 6230
it seems that the new Mobile phones are getting out with a new Bluetooth Chip 1.2.

The ones on the iPaq is 1.1.

Unless HP releases a new firmware or a Sp, i'm afraid there's is a now issue with these units.

You are not the first one to experience similar issue.

You can alway use an older mobile phone, like the Nokia 6310i.

Hi all,

Apparently they are already working on this subject. But it won't be for tomorrow.

This is a well known issue and I reported this to HP in February but without any result. It has nothing to do with BT 1.2 (the phones affected 6820 and 6230 work well with any other BT device) but with the fact that the 19xx and 22xx try to make a less secure connection.

All,

looks like there will be a fix from HP. Found the following link today http://www.expansys.fr/forumthread.asp?code=108417&thread=78&man=NOKIA

"I have a beta patch that can solve the 2210 bluetooth connectivity with nokia 6230. tried and works..."

(Nokia 6820 and 6230 have the same security settings).

Regards,
Tom
