I'm trying to reset the 600N printer server installed (to wipe out the IP) and the 600N JetDirect manual says to reset the printer first. Can't find any information in the user's guide. Hoping someone out there knows.

I tried the steps you gave to wipe out an Ip address that was user assigned. I powered off the unit, unplugged it, disconnected the ethernet cable, plugged in, powered on holding the little button with the triangle in it till the light flashed near the big button. I have tried this a hundred times. The user assigned ip is still there. I even pulled the card from the unit and reinstalled it......please help........I am desperate.
some of the LJ 2200 printers had a problem with the control panel buttons... not sure if it would apply here. Fixing it involves removing the cover where the buttons are and reseating a retaining clip of some sort. that would need a walk through from HP support. The other option is do the NVRAM reset mentioned above. The only thing you will lose is soke info printed out on the config page - page count, serial number (stamped on the printer anyway). Press and hold the GO button (this is the BIG button I believe) for 20 seconds or more after the LEDs come on, while powering on the printer.
Cold reset on an HP2100 is done by powering off the printer, and hold JOB CANCEL while powering back up. Continue to hold JOB CANCEL until all the LED's come on. Release JOB cancel after the LED's light. If you hold the JOB CANCEL for more than 20 seconds after the LED's come on it will also do a NVRAM Initialization, so you don't want to hold it that long.
