Recently, I have tried updating my hx2410's firmware in order to stop the SD Card/battery discharge problems. However, whenever I try to update the firmware, I get the following message on my hx2410: "The update was not valid. The update files will be deleted."

The hx2410 is using Windows Mobile 5. I have tried using soft/hard resets and reloading the original firmware on the CD, and I can't seem to update the firmware.

I don't know if any of these will help, but might be worth a shot:

Remove any installed CF or SD cards from your pocket pc

Make sure you are plugging the cradle directly into a usb port on your computer (do not use a usb hub)

Plug the AC adapter into the cradle (see back of cradle where cord comes out) to bolster the power supply to the pocket pc.

I have all the same problems Michael. Has anyone at HP actually replied or addressed your problem.

What you say stands true for many Documented iPaq problems.. They exist on the HX2410 but the fixes don't or won't download onto the machine.

So far that's my experience anyway.. The iPaq works, but not as advertised. And Mobile 5 support from HP seems week.

How was then solved this issue?
I'm trying to install the Italian version of the ROM upgrade but it fails for the same reason you described.
