Hi
I recently purchased an old Lh3 netserver.
It has the integrated hp netRAID card.

I have flashed the latest firmware for the
BIOS, the NetRAID card, and the Hot-swap Back plane.
I have run Diag tools and every thing is in order.
It has 6 Ultra 2 HDs.
Diag Tools reads says they are all ok.
When i enter the NetRAID express tools
I only see 4 HDs. It does not see HDs on 4 channels 4 & 5

Attached is the printed screen.

Other issue is that when i insert the Navigator CD ROM it boots and then stops telling me there is inssuficient XMS memory to run SMART drive.
I have been abale to install OS by puttin drive on channel 0 online and then booting the CD.
However i would like to be able to install
NetRAID assistant and as far as i know it is
only doable after booting the Navigator CD ROM

Any ideas :)

thanks!

hi,
first the disks are probably seen by the system just not by you!

they will be at scsi id 9 and 10 most likely, so scroll down the list to see them and then highlight and configure as required.

are you using the right naviagtor cd for the system, there are different versions?

if you have windows or os on the system then you should be able to see and use the cd here. and either get the netraid software from the cd in windows or alternatively just download the latest version from the drivers support site.

Thanks Andy :D

At POST when i Press <Ctr +M> NetRAID express tools is launched
And yes System !!! only sees four disks.
Two are missing

So far i have managed to install NetRAID assistant on top of the OS (W2K wich i installed from a the W2K server boot cD as is installation from Navigator CD rom v 4.05 failed as i mentioned before)

Weird part is that the 6 disks are listed by the NetRAID assitant
Firmwares are up to date with the available
dwonloads on the download site.

BTW: A minute ago i was able to boot the NAvigator CD-ROM:
This is what i did:
I took all drives but one offline, and cleared CMOS

Yes Andy

You were right !

I see now i was confused as in order to view the other two disks on NetRAID Express tools it is necessary to scroll past SCSI ids 3-7 down to SCSI ids 8 and 9.

how do i assign points?
