I have installed net-SNMP 5.4.2.1 from HP Internet Express and configured it to do some monitoring.

However, I can't get any reasonable stats out of hrProcessorLoad. I have a 4-way Itanium box and deliberatley set the cpu util at 50% by hogging two CPUs, and sar returns 50% and top returns 100%,100%,0%,0%.

However, hrProcessorLoad returns strange values anywhere between 2 and 35.
Also, in other implementations I've seen multiple hrProcessorLoad values returned to reflect multiple CPUs but I only get the one (768, whereas I would expect to see hrProcessorLoad values for 769,770 and 771 too!)

Can anyone suggest how I get some sensible CPU values out of net-SNMP?

I have included a sample output below:

# /opt/iexpress/net-snmp/bin/snmpwalk -v 1 -c <my-comm-string> <my-ip> | grep -i proc
