hi,

We run payroll which consists of many batch jobs that prompt for user input. I have been asked to 'automate' this so that the jobs can run unattended up to a certain point.(We constantly need to check totals with business dept. in order to get an 'ok' to proceed).
Is there a way I can set the jcl up to read an input file instead of having somebody standing there for each prompt?
I have experience with Cobol, however, the programs used belong to a vendor. If necessary, I could change them, but I'd rather not.

Thank you for any advice you can give me. I appreciate it.
