after upgrading an NSM 160 from 8.0 to 8.1, qliq connection fails with result 80001014. I get this result either from a remote CLIQ or from the On-Node CLI. Any ideas?

Uh, not any good ones ;) I'm asking some friends with more experiance with CLI then me though. I would have said to make sure you had updated the remote CLI also, but since you mention the on box cli too that is probably a dumb question.
I actually opened a support case on this (CASE:4605211923) and Rupal fixed it. It looks like the problem was caused by a service on the NSM being locked up, she was able to fix it on the back-end. A reboot also would have fixed it, but this was a single-box production environment so that solution was contraindicated :-)
