I recently clean-installed MacOS 10.6 on a MacBook Pro, and found that printing to my HP LaserJet 4100 is no longer reliable. It only occasionally works.

The HP is connected via USB to an Airport Express base station, which is a relay for a main Airport Extreme (round).

I followed the HP instructions here...

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c01844302

...but despite that, the HP does not respond. It did a day or two ago, but I took the laptop on the road with me today, came back, and found that it will not connect with the HP anymore. I tired using the Printers & Faxes control panel to re-connect the printer, but I can't get it to work.

Any clues?

Additional details:

The HP is connected to the Airport Express via Keyspan serial-to-USB adaptor.

I'm still using a G4 iMac running MacOS 10.4.11 to print to the HP without any problem. Still no resolution on the MacBook Pro.
