I've donwloaded the latest firmware cd from the hp website, and have tried to remotely install the firmware on windows and linux servers. I have been able to do all the windows servers but none of the linux ones work.
I noticed that the linux servers (rhel 5.2) don't have any hp tools installed e.g from the psp package. Could that be why the firmware update isn't working on there? Is there another way to remotely update them? If I do need to install a remote hp package to enable remote updates can you please tell me which package it is?
Thanks
Dan

Dan, You'll need to ensure the SSH service is installed on each of the target Linux servers and that the Firmware CD update is initiated from a Linux system as well.
The only files needed from the Linux PSP to update the Linux servers is the hp-ilo driver, which is needed to be able to update the PowerPIC and iLO firmware support.
If you continue to have problems with the Linux support from the Firmware CD, you can zip up the files in the /tmp/hp_sum directory, remove any .bin or other executable files and attach it to this issue and I'll take a quick look at them to see what could be causing your problem.
