Attmepted to updrade firmware on a P4015X laserjet printer. Tried using the HP Easy Firmware Upgrade utility over the network and direct connect to the printer via USB port. The download would not complete. Now the printer has a message on the control panel "download file now... send RFU upgrade on usb dev port". Not sure what to try next to get the firmware upgraded for this printer. Original problem was printer would display 49.4c18 errors. I have had success in the past eliminating the error by updrading the firmware. Possible formatter board? Any information would be appreciated

HP LaserJet P4000 Printer Series - Special instructions for 04.048.4 firmware Installation
Introduction
This version of firmware requires a non-standard process to install the firmware bundle. This document provides instructions and background to allow users to successfully upgrade to this firmware version.

Background
The bundle includes firmware for all components (JDI, input and output devices, etc.). If the bundle is installed on a LJP4000 series printer with a high capacity input tray installed, and firmware prior to 04.048.4, a 49 error will occur following the upgrade. To avoid this problem in normal operation, the firmware posted on hp.com is for the formatter only. No other components are included.

Additional information
The firmware bundle can be installed in one of two ways: If the bundle is installed as described in the Background section, a 49 error will occur. After power cycling the printer it will say to resend the upgrade. Sending the bundle the second time will work correctly.

A second option is to install the formatter-only RFU first, then install the bundle. This will avoid the 49 error.

Both versions of the RFU, along with the readme and this document, are available at this
