Greetings!

I am trying to install 11.31 (09/2009) to my PARISC system from an Itanium 11.31 Ignite Server. I have the IGNITE and Ignite-UX-11-31 kits loaded on my Ignite Server and I have been using the IUX server for restoring 11.11 make_net_recovery archives to 11.11 PARISC Servers.

I got hold of the latest 11.31 Kits but they're all in ISO - DVD 1 to 3. I have them ISO mounted on a Solaris Server and NFS mounted them to my 11.31 Ignite Server as /cd1 to /cd3.

What I have done so far are:

make_depot from each cd1 to cd2
make_config
manage_index

When I did an Ignite to my PARISC system, I do see the 11.31 Default as a selection but my Ignite Install always errors out in the SCSIU320 fileset install. It further complains the fileset can't be found.

Are my steps above correct though? SHould I use swcopy instead of make_depots?

TIA!

This latest 11.31 version can mount ISOs directly!

You should try this.

Then just let ignite copy them to an install depot.

What RISC systems do you have?

Maybe they need a firmware update in order to support 11.31.

Torsten,

My 11.31 IUX machine is based onthe 2nd OEUR of 11.31. I don't have the ISO Enh Mount capability (Can that be added though? Is there a kit?)

So are you saying I can mount the 3 ISOs and use the Ignite Server configuration wizard to copy the ISOs to an Install Depot? Does that mean I have to do that 3 times or will I first spec media 1 and and will it prompt me for the other 2?

Thanks!

Sorry, I don't remember. But if it doesn't ask, just repeat the copy with the other media.

No dice man.

Ignite expects to "scan" a media. It can't scan a mounted ISO.

SO I guess I will have to do the trio commands above unless there is a trick to twit Ignite to look for CD1 on a mounted path ..
