Warning- This thread is me venting!
We have a LJ P2015 that was just under a year old as of last month. It died, and the formatter board was blamed. We contacted support and was told to toke it to an HP authorized repair facility where we had the board replaced. The printer worked for about a 3 days before the formatter board failed again.
I contacted support again, and this time they charged us $54 to ship us a refurb unit. The refurb unit arrived damaged (fuser door was broken and the the plastic side was cracked). I requested another replacement. That second replacement failed the same day I installed it, again with the formatter board. Contacted HP support agian, and got my third refurb printer sent out. A day after installing it, it has failed too, with the same symptoms as all the others (Paper Jam/Toner lights solid yellow, PC doesn't recognize device).
I'm at wit's end now because HP cannot provide me with a working machine, under warranty, and when they tried, they charged me $54 to do so.
Their phone based support is rediculous. I had one agent explain to me what collateral was when I refused to give them my CC information yet again. I further explained to the agent that I spoke english natively, unlike him.
Their Calexico facility obviously does little testing to make sure that their "refurb" printers actually are free of problems as all three replacement printers came from them. I should mention that the printer with damage that I sent back came in a clean, undamaged shipping container.
If an HP customer support agent is trolling this forum, I would LOVE for them to contact me so I can gnaw their ear off with my disdain for HP support.

Even though this printer is still within factory HP warranty, I don't have the time to deal with their tech support any longer and our office cannot afford to be without a printer any longer; we've purchased another printer.
I just posted what may be a simple and fast solution to get this printing going. It cost you nothing but maybe a half hour of time and you will then have a spare printer that will work. The issue is cold solder joints on the main processor on the printer formatter. There are thousands of them out there with this problem and hp has not stepped up to the plate to solve the issue. If you go to the other link you will see that many now have their printer working after baking at 350 degrees F for 8 minutes. Just need to prop the board up on the corners and place in baking pan.
Yes I've seen the thread, and I have no doubts that cooking the formatter board will resolve the problem. If you re-read my original post, it's more about the poor service from HP than about fixing the machine iteself.
