You need the DVD!
Use a PC based burning program or "dd" from hp-ux to create the ISO file. |

Shalom,
No senthil, you will need to take the DVD install media and use dd to make the iso yourself.
Assuming you have a software contract, you can use your DVD as a the source and create your own iso.
I don't know what you are going to do with it. HP-UX has a very hard time mounting iso files.

ISO is a standards organization.
http://www.iso.org
When you get there, search for "9660". ISO-9660 is a CD-ROM file system standard.
> Use a PC based burning program or "dd" from > hp-ux to create the ISO file.
"dd" can create an image of the CD/DVD. It's an ISO-9660 image if the CD/DVD contained an ISO-9660 file system. If an HP-UX CD/DVD contains some other file system, then "dd" can create an image of it, but it will not be an ISO-9660 image.
Calling a CD/DVD image "an ISO" is common, but it is misleading.
The cdrtools package also includes a "readcd" program, which is a bit more convenient than "dd".
> I don't know what you are going to do with > it. HP-UX has a very hard time mounting > iso files.
One could make a DVD from it.
Of course, this whole discussion may have little to do with the real problem, about which we know approximately nothing. If the real question is, "Where can I download an HP-UX installation DVD image?", then the answer has little to do with which format is used on the DVD. |

HP-UX is not available for download. You need to buy media kits from HP. |

Based on other threads from senthil_kumar I'm sure he will use the ISOs to install virtual machines. This is many tomes faster than using real media. "dd" copies work fine, so I suggest to use this. |

Hello,
a) With HP-UX 11.31 Update 4 release, HP started offering electronic delivery in April 2009 (in the US only).
Customer may download as soon as the order is processed.
The associated support products (software updates) are delivered either physically or electronically.

You're in India, right? Did you note the part where it said "US only?"?
You might state *exactly* what it is you are trying to do, as I don't believe the standard distibution media is in ISO format either (but I could be wrong).... |

Hi All,
I have linked my service aggrement id with my login, so i am able to access "software update manager".
I used following steps:
Software Update Manager --> request updates -->all service aggrement (selected) --> release (selected) -->Then i have selected particular release "HP-UX 11i v3 OE Update Release 09/2009"
Here i have doubts, actually i want to install HP-UX 11i v3 on Integrity server (rx3600). but here the available platform is "HP9000", so can i use this for Integrity server? |

with a valid software maintenance contract, I'd *assume* not or, if there is a charge, that it's minimal (as in the cost of the media plus shipping).
Further, I believe it will *tell* you what it costs when you actually get to the part where you order it, but I'm not certain.
But, I'm not HP, so I don't know that for sure. You could always call, open a ticket or ???? |
