I have a LaserJet 4L and a DeskJet 722C.
What is hpfsched?
Is it necessary?/Does it need to run on Startup?

Hi Bill,
HPFSCHED is a small TSR that will remind you to clean the cartridges in your DeskJet from time to time in order to keep print quality high.
It can be removed from the run line in win.ini if you do not want that feature.

Now here is something really strange:
Whenever I booted up my computer (running Windows ME), the C: drive would pop open and I'd have to X it out (annoying).
When I used "msconfig" to change: run=hpfsched to run= inside of win.ini, then this problem went away!
